Flower World

So I went to a Stampin Up gathering/club on Friday. I know, I know you are thinking "She is fraternizing with the enemy!" but like I said before, I am not a CTMH whore. Yes I do love CTMH and I really do prefer it over any other company but Stampin Up had a stamp that I just had to have! I will post pic's after I get the stamp!

So we made 3 wonderful cards that night. I do like the punches Stampin Up has but you know what...I do prefer acrylic stamps. I had to do some double stamping on one of the projects and you know, it is just a bit more difficult when you cannot see the first stamped image.

Anyway, the one card we made was a lot of fun and I reproduced it today. For the flowers I used my Cricut and used 3 different shades of CTMH paper - two were the textured card stock. For the tag I used Tender Tags which is the June stamp of the month. I used a technique called Rock & Roll. Basically you stamp an image on a scrap piece of paper one, then a second time without reinking it. Then you just roll the edges of that stamp on the stamp pad - kind of rocking and rolling it around. Then you stamp it over the second image you had. So you have the lighter color with a darker border. If you want to learn more about this technique you can check out the Art & Soul webisodes on my website.

Anyway, here is a pic of the flower pot card I reproduced! As you can see, you can pull the flowers up for a card sentiment!

Lots of Pictures

Okay, so this post may not be too exciting but I just had to share the pages I got done at my scrapbook retreat last weekend.

First I should probably tell you about the WONDERFUL place where I went on my retreat. It is called Pampered Scrappers and is run by Rhonda Beck out of her house in Sammamish. Basically we have the run of the whole upstairs. There are 3 bedrooms and then a big bonus room. The snacks are endless, she makes mochas at our request, and the breakfast, lunches and dinner are WONDERFUL! If you need a place to get away for the weekend, check her out - www.pamperedscrappers.com.

Anyway, so I was quite pleased that I got a chipboard album done. The album spelled the word "Beach" and I had pictures from our Long Beach trip in there. Then I actually scrapbooked all of my Vegas pictures, the ones I had of Harley AND our golfing photos! It just made me realize that I should only do scrapbook pages IF I have the photos printed. For awhile there I would just do scrapbook pages w/o pictures but then I find that I never go back to add the photos.

So here are all of the pictures. Sorry, not much else to say about them. There is a variety of product used (not all CTMH but as I said before, I am not a CTMH whore!)I must say I did fall in love with the DoodleCharms Cricut cartridge. So I had to buy it! Another website you should check out is www.ohmycrafts.com. Great deals on anything scrapbook!
