I have ventured in to my craft room....

....and actually accomplished something! Not much mind you but it takes me SO long to really get in to the swing of things.

Anyway, I have two things that I am working on. Well three but the purse I showed you in the last post! Right now I am working on two cards for a card swap and I am working on a baby shower invite for a friends baby shower that I am hosting. So far I have completed the idea for one card for the swap and the baby shower invite.

So the first card I have created for the swap is a holiday card. I used one of the new paper packets - Evensong - and used the Center Square card template from the Originals book. For the poinsettia I used the stamp set Brushstroke Flowers and used Playful Flourishes for the stem. I have used these stamp sets for so many different items! They are so versatile!

The second card I did was for my friends baby shower. With all the stamp sets I have you would think I would have more for making invites but you know what???? I don't! Oh sure, I have everything else under the sun! Anyway, on this card I used paper from the packet Rough and Tumble. For the dump truck I used the stamp set Little Builder. I was looking for a fire engine as the baby daddy is a firefighter but no such luck! For this one I also used a template from the Originals book. The template I used was Heirloom Oval.

I think now though I have an injury from my scrapbooking! My right wrist is killing me! Oh, the risks we take when scrapbooking!

Shall we go shopping?

Though I do not think this purse would hold too much of your stuff! I got this off of the Close to My Heart BB. Another consultant had posted her pic's and then was kind enough to send me instructions!

I used one of the new paper packets (Aspen), the Twilight Ribbon Rounds and the Celebration Bouquet stamp set. I did not have any snow/winter stamp sets so this stamp worked great as two of the flowers could pass as snowflakes!

Now I just have to put some pictures inside of it! Imagine giving this little purse to someone for a gift, with maybe a gift card inside? What a great present or thank you!

When children get quiet....

So about two weeks ago I finally took out this card kit that I bought last year. As I mentioned in a previous post I have an addiction. I buy scrapbook supplies but never use them! Hence the reason I have not used this card kit in a year! But I decided I had better crack it open.

So the kit comes with a stamp set, extra paper to stamp, sand, distress and so I did it. Once I had all of my pieces ready I began to assemble the cards. Well now is probably a good time to mention that my daughter is quite artsy as well. And especially when she sees mommy doing her scrapbooking. So she wanted to help me make a card. A card!!

Well a while later I realized it was pretty quiet. And as any of you who are parents know...when kids get quiet it is not good! So I walked in to the dining room where all of my items were and there is Shelby....using all of my stamped/distressed paper and making her own cards!

Part of me wanted to yell at her and get after her for using mommy's stuff. But then there was that part of me that did not want to curb her artistic creations.

Then I thought back to my addiction and of all the hoards and hoards of bling, paper and ribbon I have stashed in to my craft room and thought how I can always find more paper or ribbon to finish making my cards!

And here are the prize winning cards that my talented daughter made! This Scrapbook Mama cannot be any prouder!!
